A Work in Progress

Hey there. We have been busy ripping apart walls and working with our architects/engineers trying to figure out the best way to configure the layout of the Cog. After weeks of Dan, Jay and I scratching our heads as far as were to put the bathrooms so we can maximize floor space for the patrons, our architect Lisa totally made it work on paper. She has also worked out a floorplan that will allow us to have a nice opening that will flow right into our beer garden which will be really nice in the summer. We are really glad we have a good crew on the project things seem to be looking up. Currently we have been hunting for the right equipment that will fit into our budget and also working with some local people to come up with some of our graphics to use for our logo and different brands of beer.  We have also been talking with someone who has helped other people get breweries going without spending alot of unneccisary $$. It has been nice to see that there a lot of people interested in what we are up to. We welcome any question or concerns you might have about our project and you can channel them through our Facebook page. We have decided we will do a 7bbl system which I feel will allow us to keep the beer turning over fast enough without sitting in the tanks for to long and also keep the options fresh as we rotate new beers through taps and into your glasses. We hope to turn many of you on to some new styles of beer that you have yet to try before as well as create some of the old stand-bys that are just always fun to drink.

Cheers,
Brian

We are planning on bringing you a 7 barrel brewery to the downtown area of Ishpeming, MI. We feel it is important to put something into this downtown area that will draw people in to support small and local businesses. We want to create beers that are bold and unique that will inspire conversations amongst friends and that will show people that beer has way more to offer than the light fizzy yellow stuff that somehow took over our beer industry after the prohibition. We hope to provide something for everyone to enjoy and I can't wait to start providing you with something tasty!

Cheers,

Brian
